2021 - 2022 COVID-19 Information

Harper Creek Families and Staff,

The Calhoun County Department of Public Health has updated guidance for COVID-19 protocols. Starting today, Monday, February 21, Calhoun County schools will no longer be required to identify close contacts for COVID-19 exposures. Parents will still be notified if their student was in a classroom or school activity with a COVID positive individual and asked to monitor their child for symptoms for 14 days. Students and staff are no longer mandated to stay home from school because of a school exposure to a COVID-19 positive individual. Students and staff that are not fully vaccinated are encouraged to test every other day for six days if they are exposed to a COVID positive individual in a school setting. Home tests are available in each building office upon request.

Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 will isolate themselves for five days.  If symptoms are resolving or have resolved after five days, the student or staff member may return to school on day 6 but must wear a well-fitting mask through day 10. If symptoms have not resolved, then the student or staff member should continue to isolate until fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medicine.

Full details of the new CCPHD guidance can be found here:  K-12 CCPHD of 2022 Isolation and Quarantine guidance (revize.com)
