Students, please remember that your cell phone must be off and in your locker from bell to bell, that means 7:40-2:40. Teachers have been directed to report all phone sightings to the office for documentation. If we find out that you have used your phone during school, that also will be documented. Please see the student handbook on pages 12-13 for details./
Harper Creek High School and Middle School Cell Phone Rules
Students may not use a cell phone from the first tardy bell of the day to the last dismissal bell of the day. Students may not use their cell phones or electronic devices in the bathrooms, locker rooms, or when in the hall on a pass. Students found using their cell phones in any manner during prohibited times will be issued the following consequences:
Offense One – The student will take the phone to the office and may pick up the device after school. Parent informed.
Offense Two – The student will take the phone to the office and may pick up the device after school. Parent informed.
Offense Three – The student will take the phone to the office. The parent must pick up the device after school. Parent informed.
Offense Four – The student will take the phone to the office. The student is no longer allowed to bring a cell phone to school for a designated length of time.
If subsequently found with a cell phone, progressive discipline will occur. Confiscated phones can be picked up after the last bell of the day.
The number of offenses will reset each school year.
Reasonable suspicion that a communication device has been used to violate District policies or used during the times listed above shall be subject to disciplinary action and may result in the communication device being confiscated.
Attention Staff and Students! Students, please remember to deposit your LEAD tickets in the grade-level bin in the cafeteria. Teachers don't forget to sign them so that you have a chance to win a prize too! Starting at the end of the month, there will be a prize for the student in each grade level who has received the most Lead Tickets.
8th Graders interested in applying to the Math and Science Center. The window closes on Friday, February 20th at 3:00.Please see Mrs. Schultz if you are in need of more information.
Students interested in What A Do Theater: Get ready for the spotlight — this year’s middle school play is Matilda Jr.! Visit the Middle School website for Registration and more information. Rehearsals kick off on March 9th, and performances will take place April 24th, 25th, and 26th. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Fronsman or Mrs. Mayhew. Don’t miss your chance to be part of the magic.
Attention 7th and 8th Grade: The dance has been rescheduled for this Friday, February 20th. All previously purchased tickets will be honored. Tickets will be on sale this week. This is not a formal dance, so please do not bring formal attire to change into. You may not leave and re-enter the dance. The dance is right after school from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Please have your ride waiting promptly at 5:00 pm in the parent pick-up lot on the east side of the building.
Students interested in Robotics: There will be an introduction meeting for 5th through 8th graders who are thinking about joining Robotics next year. The meeting will be held in the Library at the Administration building next Tuesday, February 24. There is no sign-up at this time. Please plan to attend the meeting for more information.
Attention 5th & 6th grade girls! Girls on the Run is back! Come run, laugh, and build new friendships. Registration is open now—stop by the main office to grab a flyer and sign up. Our running adventure starts on Tuesday, March 10! Teachers: Girls on the Run is seeking coaches! Interested in getting involved or know someone who is? Contact Ms. Mayhew to learn how.
