Transparency Reporting

Michigan Compiled Law, MCL 388.1618(2), requires school districts and intermediate school districts to post certain budget and financial information on the district's website within 30 days after a board adopts its annual operating budget or any subsequent revision to that budget. The Budget and Salary/Compensation Transparency Reporting is an opportunity to communicate to our community how we utilize the resources that are provided to us.

Michigan Department of Education (MDE) has published guidelines for MCL 388.1618(2) Budget and Salary/Compensation Transparency Reporting.

The following are the required components of MCL 388.1618(2) Budget and Salary/Compensation Transparency Reporting.

This information has been provided by the Center for Educational Performance and Information (CEPI) based on the most recent financial data submitted by the district to the Financial Information Database (FID).

Harper Creek Community Schools

Dear Parents and Guardians,

At Harper Creek Community Schools, we are deeply committed to providing our elementary students with a high-quality, effective reading education. In accordance with Section 164k(e) of the State School Aid Act, we are sharing an update regarding our K–5 literacy curriculum.

We are excited to announce that Harper Creek Community Schools has selected a new K–5 core literacy curriculum, Amplify CKLA (3rd Edition), which will officially launch at the start of the upcoming school year on August 24, 2026.

Amplify CKLA is officially recognized and included on the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) Approved Evidence-Based Elementary Reading Curricula List. This program has been thoroughly vetted by state experts to ensure it aligns with Michigan standards and uses proven, science-backed methods to support student academic success.

While Michigan law allows school districts flexibility in choosing their materials, our team engaged in a rigorous selection process to ensure our students have access to the absolute best tools available. We are confident that this new curriculum will provide a strong foundation for our young readers.

Thank you for your continued partnership in your child’s education. If you have any questions about our new literacy materials, please feel free to reach out to the district office.

Respectfully,

Jaym Abraham
