Beaveriety Talent Show Returns, Welcoming the Entire Harper Creek Community
The beloved Beaveriety Talent Show is officially returning to Harper Creek Community Schools after a years-long pause, and organizers are inviting the entire Harper Creek community to celebrate its comeback. This renewed event aims to bring neighbors, families, students, and staff together for an evening that highlights the wide variety of talents within the community.
More than just a school activity, Beaveriety is intended to be a truly community-wide showcase. Anyone who lives in, works in, or is connected to the Harper Creek community is welcome to audition. Participants may include students, teachers, school employees, alumni, families, and local residents. Even groups that are not part of the school system are encouraged to participate if they are connected to someone who plans to audition. Organizers want the event to reflect the creativity and spirit of the broader community.
Auditions will be held on Thursday, April 16, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the Harper Creek High School auditorium. Those interested should prepare a one to two-minute audition that demonstrates the type of act they plan to perform in the final show. While the audition piece does not need to be the final polished performance, it must accurately represent the talent category, whether singing, dancing, playing an instrument, performing comedy, or showcasing another skill.
Vocalists may sing with a backing track or perform a capella, but must bring their own music. Dancers should also provide their own music. The auditorium will have microphones, speakers, a working sound system, and a selection of props and costumes available for use, allowing performers to fully express their ideas and bring their auditions to life.
The return of Beaveriety carries an important purpose beyond entertainment. All proceeds will benefit the Harper Creek performing arts department, helping fund travel, equipment, and performance opportunities for choir, band, and drama students. Organizers hope the event inspires community support while shining a light on the remarkable talents found throughout Harper Creek.
Those interested in participating or supporting the performing arts may email Tiffini Hurley or call Harper Creek High School.
Join us in bringing Beaveriety back to the stage and be part of a community tradition renewed.
