Harper Creek Community Schools invites community members to attend the Community Connections Luncheon on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 11:30 AM. The event will take place at the Harper Creek Administration Building in the Board of Education room and is open to all who are interested in staying informed and engaged with the district.

Guests will enjoy a complimentary lunch prepared by HCCS Chef Ruemenapp, offering an opportunity to gather in a relaxed and welcoming environment. The luncheon is designed to bring people together, strengthen relationships, and encourage meaningful conversations among community members, staff, and district leaders.

Superintendent Rob Ridgeway will share a district update during the event, providing an overview of current developments and key initiatives. His remarks will focus on important topics impacting students, staff, and families, while also offering a look ahead at priorities and plans for the coming months. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of the district’s direction and ongoing efforts to support student learning and growth.

Community Connections is an opportunity for HCCS community members who may not have school-aged children attending HCCS but would like to know what is happening in the district. All are welcome to attend!

Community members are asked to RSVP by May 8, 2026, to Karla Kopp at 269-441-6555 or by emailing Karla

After several years away, the Beaveriety Talent Show is returning to Harper Creek, inviting everyone in the community to showcase their skills. With open auditions and a spirit of togetherness, the event aims to celebrate wide-ranging talents while supporting performing arts programs. Harper's Unsung Hero - Lindsey Cook

Lindsey has evolved as an educator, taking on various roles, including early childhood teacher, first-grade teacher, fourth-grade teacher, and virtual English teacher for non-English learners. During and after the pandemic, she began to take on several leadership roles, which eventually led to her transition from teacher to administrator

Harper's Unsung Hero - Lesa Kenney

Lesa’s passion for music as a child led her to pursue a teaching degree. She was inspired by middle school music teachers and knew that she also wanted to be a music teacher. Although she couldn’t become a music teacher, she still completed her degree at WMU to become a teacher.

Harper's Unsung Hero - Dennis McKeen

Dennis developed a passion for theater as a student at Battle Creek Central High School. He was fortunate enough to enjoy a long career, writing, acting, and directing shows in various venues. A few years after retiring from the theatre industry, he signed on to be a district sub for Harper Creek. He and our other district subs are of great value to our day-to-day operations, helping out wherever they are needed.
