Beadle Lake Elementary worked together to Learn responsibly, Encourage Kindness, Act respectfully, Demonstrate safety (LEAD), and directly help other elementary students affected by hurricanes Helene and Milton. BLE joined the Great Kindness Challenge to collect youth-size socks and underwear to help meet critical needs and to give comfort to other elementary school students. The Undy 500 Drive set a goal to collect 500 items to be donated.

Due to overwhelming support from BLE students, families, staff, and community members, the goal of receiving 500 items was surpassed by over 500! 623 pairs of socks and 474 pairs of underwear, for a total of 1,097 items were collected! BLE students attached messages of love and encouragement to each package of socks and undies. The 72-pound box was mailed to Asheville, North Carolina last week.

This incredible act of generosity showcases the power of kindness and community, proving that together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others and live as LEADer's

Harper's Unsung Heroes - Stefanie Howard

Stefanie attended Harper Creek Schools starting in 1st Grade, all the way through high school graduation. She developed a love for school as a young student at Beadle Lake Elementary. Upon graduation, she started at MSU with hopes of earning a marketing degree, but this didn’t last long. She quickly switched her focus to education. Her teaching career began in Houston, but she would eventually return home.

Harper's Unsung Hero - Matt Bilger

Matt grew up in the Bilger family, the second of four children. He was different than his siblings, the first in his family to participate in athletics. Through these differences, Matt has been able to find his own niche as a teacher and a coach. He has developed a passion for his career, making an impact on current and former Harper Creek students.

Harper's Unsung Hero - Karen Westlake

Karen spent her career seeing the world working in the airline industry. The experiences as an airline attendant provided a lifetime of memories. Looking for an opportunity to get out of the house each day, a few decades after retiring, Karen joined the Harper Creek family a year ago as a lunch and recess aide.
