Are you interested in winning a Stanley cup? Buy raffle tickets during your lunch. Tickets are $1 each, the drawing will be announced Friday May 3rd. There will be one Stanley cup raffled off per grade. All proceeds will be donated to the School LEAD Store.
Don’t forget to drop those lead tickets in the box labeled with your grade in the cafeteria. Yours may be drawn to pick a prize from the store.

Congratulations to this month’s 7/8 Student of the Month nominees. Cole Gochenour, BriannaPratt, Brady Cornwell,Eva Hunt, Payton May, Grayson Iler, Natalea Burrett, Audrina Nelson, Carlee Hammond, Amy Alday, Emma Willi, Hayden Culver, Megan Cook, Madelyn Gallagher, Jenna Carr, Zoey West.
The Girls' Track and Field team finished an undefeated season last night by winning the I-8 league track meet. The girls scored 167 total points and out scoring second place by 76 points.
The girls dominated the relays, winning all four events. The team of Bristol Latimer, Olivia Hensell, Kendall Latimer and Maddy Gallagher won the 4 x 100. Maddy Gallagher, Aubrie Stuart, Bristol Latimer, and Naitalia Hoyt won the 4 x 200. The 4 x 400 was won by Audrina Nelson, MiaJolie Kent, Carsen Bunker, and Ella Brannen. The winning 4 x 800 team of Alaina Kirkpatrick, Carsen Bunker, Rylee Zumer, and Anna Loritz set a new school record with a time of 11:05.
The sprinters also dominated the meet. Bristol Latimer finished first in the 70-meter dash. Kendall Latimer finished 2nd, and Olivia Hensell finished 6th in the 100-meter dash. Alaina Kirkpatrick won the 400-meter dash, with Audrina Nelson finishing 7th. In the 200-meter dash, Ella Brannen finished second, and Niatalia Hoyt finished first, setting a new school record of 28.11 seconds..
The Hurdlers also had a good night. Aubrie Stuart finished 3rd in the 55-meter hurdles and the 200-meter hurdles. Kendall Latimer finished 5th in the 200-meter hurdles.
The distance runners also fared well. Rylee Zumer and Anna Loritz finished 5th and 6th, in the 800-meter run. Anna Loritz also finished 2nd in the mile followed by Alaina Kirkpatrick in 4th and Rylee Zumer in 5th. In the 2-mile run, Marissa Demorest finished 3rd and Abby Cook finished 4th.
The Harper girls also did well in the field events. Stella Madison took 4th place in the shot put. MiaJolie Kent finished 4th in the pole vault. In the long jump, Olivia Hensell finished 2nd and Naitalia Hoyt finished 6th. Three Harper girls scored points in the high jump. Ella Brannen finished 2nd, Maddy Gallagher finished 3rd, and Carsen Fields finished 6th.
Winning the conference championship was a great way to end a fantastic season. Congratulations girls. Your coaches are proud of you.
The boys and girls Track and Field teams both dominated the League Championships last night and brought home the trophy.
For the boys, Sean Johnson set the tone for the meet, throwing a school record-setting 50 feet, 3 and ½ inches, stepping out of the ring a league champion in the shot put.
Other league champions from the night included:
- Gavin Chapman in the 70 and long jump
- Isaac Torres in the 400
- Logyn Katsarsky in the 800
AND
- Josh Ilgenfritz in the 200 hurdles
The 4 by 800 team crushed the school record, with the team of Jackson Hunt, Zach Krebs, Cooper Monroe, and Logyn Katsarsky.To close out the night in the 4 by 400, the team of Chapman, Edwards, Randol, and Torres brought home the gold for the Beavers!
Overall the whole team stepped. Congratulations to the 2024 I-8 League Champions!

The tennis team played against Battle Creek Central at home last night and took home a win, finishing the season at 8 wins and 1 loss. The Track and Field teams had their final home meet last night versus Hastings.
Both teams came out on top, setting PR’s and a few school records.
The boys came out strong with a school record setting 4 by 800 relay of Krebs, Kane, Katsarsky, and Monroe with a time of 10 minutes and 7 seconds.
Zach Krebs also broke his own school record in the pole vault, clearing 9 feet.
Cooper Monroe ran his heart out to set a new PR in the 2 mile run taking first, followed closely by Blake Kane in second.
It was a hard fought victory for Katsarsky in both the mile run and the 800 meters.
Josh Ilgenfritz had yet another successful night taking first in both hurdles races and the 400 meter run.
Yancer and Johnson went 1 and 2 in the shot put, then assisted Politte and Turnbull to win the 4 by 100 relay.
Jacob Politte also combined forces with O’Connell, Wabindato, and Torres to dominate the 4 by 200 relay race.
Isaac Torres and Trace Edwards went 1 and 2 in the 70 followed by Edwards and Randol taking home the gold and silver in the 200 meter run.
Cash lept his way to another W in the high jump and Gavin Chapman and Asher Bartlett set PR’s in the long jump beating out the competition.
The boys closed out the night nearly breaking the all time record for the 4 by 400 relay, missing it by 1 second with a team of Torres, Edwards, Randol, and Chapman
Great job boys!
Next week will be the league championship in Coldwater on Wednesday.

7th and 8th Graders- Your spring dance will be held this Friday, May 10th from 3-5pm in the cafeteria. Admission is $5.00, concessions are available for $2.00 each item. This is not a “dress up” dance. Please do not plan on changing clothes. We are having a themed dress up day that day to celebrate “Teacher Appreciation” week. The dance theme and dress up day is “Glow with the Flow. Wear NEON colors. Any questions see Mrs. Schultz or a student council member.
