Mrs. Heather Shipley, kindergarten teacher at Wattles Park Elementary, won a $500 Amazon gift card from Marshall Community Credit Union's Back-to-School Giveaway.
MCCU put a call out on their Facebook page asking for people to tag teachers in the giveaway post. Four names were then drawn from hundreds of submissions. Mrs. Shipley was nominated by Lauren Brown and Rachel Sajtar.
With her winnings, Mrs. Shipley purchased manipulatives to help her students develop their fine motor skills. She also purchased a small laminator and laminating supplies and still has money to further enhance her classroom.
In addition to supporting educators, MCCU partners with Wattles Park Elementary and Harper Creek Middle School with the CU in School program, a student-run program in the schools.
Harper Creek Community Schools is happy to have the support of Marshall Community Credit Union for our students and staff.
