Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi and Firekeeper Casino Hotel Announces PILT

Thank you to Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi and FireKeepers Casino Hotel for their generous Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILT) funds for the 2025fiscal year. Because of this added revenue, Harper Creek Community Schools is able to complete essential projects, improve technology, have a district-wide school nurse, a health aid at each building, three Student Resource Officers, and make improvements to facilities and our transportation fleet, directly benefiting our students and staff.

We are incredibly grateful for the continued support from the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi and FireKeepers Casino Hotel. Their ongoing generosity demonstrates a steadfast commitment to education, safety, and the well-being of our community. This partnership makes a meaningful difference in the lives of our students, and we deeply value their investment in our district's future.

Harper's Unsung Heroes - Nicole Asher August 28, 2025

Nicole has spent her entire sixteen-year teaching career working with autistic students. She joined our Harper Creek family a few years ago with the addition of an AI classroom to Wattles Park. Her calm demeanor makes her a perfect fit in working with our special education population. Her students have benefited from having daily interactions with their general education peers, just as our general education peers have benefited from interacting with them.
